This autumn the annual fellowship meeting for women from the Salvation Army in Russia was held in a new format. Instead of having a one big conference, we gathered women in three areas of Russia Command: St. Petersburg (October 6-7), Moscow (October 27-28) and Rostov-on-Don (November 10-11). This made it possible to invite more women to participate.
On September 23, 2018, the Annual Day of Prayer for the victims of human trafficking was held in the Salvation Army all over the world, as well as in Russia. The Salvation Army worldwide is committed to fighting with human trafficking.
The Salvation Army in Russia began preparations for the annual Self Denial Appeal (donations collected for the Salvation Army ministry). Every Sunday, from September 9 until the day of the Appeal, on October 14, on Sunday meeting, you will hear stories about how the Salvation Army serves different people around the world.
From 7 to 10 August in the Moscow region near from Istra Reservoir there was held atraditional Officers and Corps Leaders Fellowship of the Salvation Army Command in Russia. This is an amazing privilege and opportunity given to us by God, when we can gather with our families and spend time in prayers, testimonies and meditations on the Lord and our relationship with Him.
Summer in the Salvation Army began actively. In June, the churches of the Army in different cities organized many different events for children and young people, that for sure will be remembered for a long time by salvationists and the children who joined them with their fun, new impressions and spiritual content.
The CEC General Assembly brought together in Novi Sad, Serbia, participants from diverse Christian denominations, ecumenical and faith-based organisations, and EU offices, from across Europe. From May 31 to June 6, 2018, Major Vadim Khurin, as a representative of the Salvation Army in Russia, took part in the CEC General Assembly.
AS part of a programme linked to the 2018 FIFA World Cup taking place in Russia, a Salvation Army camp brought together more than 50 men from across the country. Based in Moscow, the men's camp took the theme Mission Possible and provided opportunity to learn together and discuss what it is to be Christian men in the 21st century. The main focus was on attitudes towards women.
