June 1 INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN' DAY is celebrated in Russia.

In the Salvation Army we believe that every human being, created and valued by God should be given respect, dignity and neighbourly love. Consequently, we are committed to the safeguarding of every adult, child and young person participating in our programmes.

During the Children's Day in the Salvation Army in Elista and Petrozavodsk, special events for children and youth were held.

В Элисте спасенцы совместно с ЕХМС провели весёлые старты, посвящённые Дню защиты детей. In Elista salvationists, together with the EHMS, held sports day, dedicated to the Children's Day.

In Petrozavodsk, children from the Salvation Army club "You are special" took part in a city Children's Day on the Kirov Square.

Then on Friday they went to a concert in the Philharmonic Hall and a walked around the city.

On Sunday, the girls visited the Children's Home, and then, walking down the street, gave their balloons to passing kids and congratulated them on the holiday.

Then they took part in the interdenominational charity festival "Colors of Childhood". They sang, told poems, exhibited their drawings, danced and received many certificates for participation in different directions!

Children are an invaluable gift from the Lord. Their laughter brings joy and light into our lives. They are an expression of God's presence in our home. Their growth reflects the mystery of God's love.

We pray that our Heavenely Father will protect children in our country and around the world and give more wisdom to us, adults, how to educate and care for the young generation in the best way.
