Dear Friends,

Every year, the Self Denial Appeal calls for us to give sacrificially. The generosity of people like you not only supports our brothers and sisters in Christ overseas, it also changes lives.

The videos for this year’s Self Denial Appeal display how important our giving is to the lives of those less fortunate in the developing world. You will see the stories of common people from different parts of the world.

The theme for this year’s Self Denial Appeal is We Rise as One. It references the Scripture found in 1 Corinthians 12:26, “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.” We share what we have, because they are one in Christ. We feel the pain, suffering and injustices of those in need.

Please prayerfully consider how you can play your part in the body of Christ to create positive change in our world.

I encourage you to accept the challenge of giving one week’s salary on Self Denial Appeal Sunday meeting, on October 14. 

Thank you for your past commitment to the Self Denial Appeal. Together – as one – we can give sacrificially to help people in need throughout the international expression of our movement.
